Restoration of Clients original Oak Front door.Fitting of temporary door wile the original is taken to our workshop for restoration.
The door was covered in a thick layer of Sikkens wood Coating and wax on the inside.
After removing the coating we found woodworm and some rot in-between the slats so, we took the door apart, treated all the worm and sanded both sides.
The client liked the idea of some extra light for the hall so we cut an opening in the top and used some of the old timber to make a frame.
Leaded glass was made and backed with a sheet of security clear glass.
All of the door furniture was stripped, cleaned and finished in Hammerite black smooth paint.
New Black ERA locks were fitted and the timber was treated with several coats of Osmo UV Oil.
